“What is the fatal charm of Italy?  What do we find there that can be found nowhere else?  I believe it is a certain permission to be human, which other places, other countries, lost long ago” – Erica Jong, American novelist.

Picture a secluded setting upon a hill top with magnificent views overlooking forests, vineyards, olive groves and mountains in the distance.  Scrumptious vegetarian farm to table dinners, sipping wine while drinking up the warm Tuscan sun.  All this after a day of yoga, breathtaking views, strolls through quaint streets and local grounds and indulging in the warm Italian culture.

Yoga in Tuscany with Bethany Britton offers the opportunity of a lifetime.  Time to further connect to your yoga practice, explore the Tuscan countryside, unwind by the salt-water pool and eat clean food.  Reconnect to and recharge yourself.  You deserve this.  Leave the bustle of life behind and breathe in the beauty that will surround you.

Our retreat home for the week will be Il Borghino, a beautiful estate that has been restored to provide elegant comfortable living in authentic Tuscan style.  Wood beamed ceilings, stone, terracotta, marble – each bedroom has a gorgeous view of the Tuscan countryside.   The estate is booked solely for our group of travelers and includes an  outdoor salt-water pool, large communal living areas, a steam room and much more

On most days, Yoga classes will be offered by Bethany once in the morning and once in the evening. Wednesday will be our day off from our mats for a day long excursion. Expect a vinyasa style yoga class every morning that will energize you for whatever excursions and adventures lie ahead of us for that day. Evening class will be an opportunity to wind down for the day with a more restorative and gentle practice. Of course this is your time away so by no means are any of the classes mandatory and the space is open for you to use to practice or meditate on your own as well. Classes are suited for all levels and experience.

Included excursions:  Experience Tuscany Off The Mat

Included in our week will be three excursions allowing us to experience all that Tuscany has to offer.
Wine Tasting Excursion:  We go by foot following the “Strada del Vino” (the wine road) enjoying beautiful scenery overlooking vineyards and olive groves. We find our way to a local bio-dynamic winery for a tour and tasting..
Pietrasanta Artist Village: We are hitting the town one evening in a colorful artist’s village. Pietrasanta is a thriving art centre full of galleries, shops and restaurants spilling onto the pavements. We will arrive in town around 5:30 in the evening and be brought home around 11:30pm. This will be the evening where we dine out.
Cinque Terre: No yoga practice this day as we will travel to spend the day exploring breath-taking Cinque Terre. Comprised of 5 coastal villages embedded in rocky cliffs along one of Italy’s most scenic stretches of Liguria.  We arrive in the morning and are picked up in the evening. This will be the day we enjoy lunch out and about along these seaside villages.

About Bethany Britton

Bethany first stepped on a yoga mat years while she was training as a classical ballet dancer. Fast forward a bit and after retiring from nearly 20 years of dancing and 10 years of teaching ballet – she got on her mat again with new intentions for change and growth in here life. The attraction was immediate and she embraced a love and dedication for the practice that continues to shape and teach her daily. The ever changing and evolving practice of yoga is what keeps Bethany coming to her mat. Always exploring, always growing, and always learning. This practice has introduced her to some of the most important people in her life and to students who continue to be her greatest inspiration.

If you attend one of Bethany’s classes, you can expect a very breath centered class that will challenge and invigorate the body safely, while providing the necessary opportunity to link the physical practice with that of the mind and spirit. Dancing on our mats with breath as our music.  She shows up to classes with a fun, lighthearted energy. You can expect laughter, as its good for the soul, mixed with those necessary moments of quiet and pause. She teaches with the hope that students will leave feeling inspired, confident, and ready to face life’s beauties and challenges.
